Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)
A private procedure

A common concern treated with the discretion and precision it deserves
Gynecomastia — enlarged male breast tissue — affects a significant number of men and can be a source of deep self-consciousness. The cause is hormonal, and it doesn't respond to diet or exercise. Surgical correction is straightforward and highly effective. At Surgical Suites of Beverly Hills, this procedure is handled with complete discretion, in a private OR, by a team experienced in male cosmetic surgery.

What is gynecomastia surgery?
Gynecomastia correction removes excess glandular tissue, fat, and in some cases skin from the male chest. Depending on the composition of the excess tissue, the procedure may involve liposuction alone, direct glandular excision through a periareolar incision, or a combination of both. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes 1–2 hours. Most patients return home the same day.

FAQs
Common questions about this service and what to expect.
Gynecomastia correction is typically considered cosmetic and not covered by health insurance, unless a medical diagnosis with documented functional impact is established.
Weight loss can reduce fatty tissue in the chest (pseudogynecomastia) but does not address true glandular gynecomastia. If glandular tissue is present, surgical excision is necessary. Your surgeon will assess the composition of your tissue during consultation.
Post-operative follow-up is coordinated through your surgeon's office. Our team ensures you have the support you need throughout recovery.
Gynecomastia correction at our facility is performed under general anesthesia, administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist.
Yes — your surgeon will order pre-operative testing including hormone levels to ensure there is no underlying medical cause for the gynecomastia that should be addressed before surgery.
Most patients take 1–2 weeks off work. A compression garment is worn for 4–6 weeks. Strenuous upper-body exercise is restricted for 4–6 weeks. Swelling continues to resolve over 2–3 months.
Incisions are typically placed around the lower edge of the areola — a location that heals inconspicuously. Liposuction access points are tiny and rarely visible. Most patients have minimal visible scarring.
Yes — in most cases, surgical correction of gynecomastia is permanent. Recurrence can occur if the underlying hormonal cause is not addressed (e.g., anabolic steroid use, certain medications). Your surgeon will advise on factors that may affect longevity.
