Lip Augmentation
Natural-looking volume

Precision shaping for one of the face's most expressive features
Surgical lip augmentation offers long-lasting results that go beyond what injectable fillers can achieve — restoring volume, improving definition, or addressing asymmetry with precision. At Surgical Suites of Beverly Hills, every procedure is performed in a private OR by a team experienced in delicate facial surgery. The result is natural, proportionate, and built to last.

What is surgical lip augmentation?
Surgical lip augmentation can include fat grafting (transferring your own fat to the lips), lip implants, or a lip lift (shortening the space between the nose and upper lip for a fuller, more defined appearance). Each approach addresses different concerns and produces different results. Your surgeon will recommend the right technique based on your anatomy and goals. Procedures are typically performed under local anesthesia or sedation and take 1–2 hours.
- Long-lasting volume enhancement — not temporary like fillers
- Natural-looking results proportionate to your facial features
- Improved lip definition and vermilion border
- Reduced philtrum length for a more youthful lip appearance (lip lift)
- Correction of lip asymmetry
- Uses your own tissue when fat grafting is selected
- Results that complement the overall facial appearance
- Performed in a private, surgical suite
- Adults with naturally thin lips who desire more volume or definition
- Patients who have tried fillers but want longer-lasting results
- Those with a long philtrum (distance between nose and upper lip) who may benefit from a lip lift
- Individuals in good overall health with no active oral infections
- Non-smokers, or those who can stop well in advance of and after surgery
- Patients with realistic expectations about surgical outcomes
- Those who have discussed options (fat grafting, implant, or lift) with their surgeon
- Adults who have received a consultation and surgical clearance

FAQs
Common questions about this service and what to expect.
Post-operative follow-up is managed through your surgeon's office. Our team coordinates to ensure you're well-supported throughout recovery.
Yes. The goal of surgical lip augmentation is proportionate, natural enhancement — not an overdone or overfilled appearance. Results are designed to complement your features.
Yes — lip work is commonly performed alongside rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, or facelift as part of a comprehensive facial plan.
Lip augmentation at our facility is typically performed under local anesthesia with sedation. Your anesthesiologist will ensure your comfort throughout.
Lip lift incisions are placed at the base of the nose in the natural skin fold and are typically not visible once healed. Fat grafting uses tiny injection sites. Implant incisions are hidden inside the mouth.
A lip lift produces permanent results. Fat grafting results are long-lasting (a portion of transferred fat is permanent). Lip implants are permanent but reversible if desired.
A lip lift shortens the philtrum (the area between the nose and upper lip) to expose more of the upper lip — improving proportion and providing a subtle volume effect without adding tissue. Augmentation adds volume directly via fat or implants. Your surgeon will recommend what's right for your anatomy.
Most patients experience swelling and bruising for 1–2 weeks. A lip lift requires 1–2 weeks of limited facial expression. Fat grafting patients can expect initial overfilling as swelling resolves. Most patients return to work within 1–2 weeks.
