Neck Lift

Precision contouring

Targeted results for one of the most visible signs of aging

The neck is often one of the first areas to show aging — and one of the most difficult to address without surgery. A neck lift tightens loose skin, removes excess fat, and corrects muscle banding for a cleaner, more defined profile. At Surgical Suites of Beverly Hills, your procedure is performed in a private OR by a dedicated team experienced in facial and neck rejuvenation.

Precision contouring. Private care. A defined, youthful profile.

What is a neck lift?

A neck lift (cervicoplasty or platysmaplasty) removes excess skin and fat from the neck and tightens the underlying platysma muscle to create a smoother, more defined contour. It can be performed alone or combined with a facelift. The procedure is done under general anesthesia and typically takes 1–3 hours. Most patients return home the same day.

What are the benefits of a Neck Lift

  • Improved jawline definition and cervical contour
  • Natural-looking, long-lasting results
  • Reduction of submental fullness and double chin
  • Smoother, firmer neck profile
  • Results that complement facelift or chin augmentation
  • Minimal visible scarring with strategic incision placement
  • Performed in a private, surgical suite

FAQs

Common questions about this service and what to expect.

Will I need a follow-up appointment at the facility?

Post-operative follow-up is managed through your surgeon's office. Our team works closely with your surgeon to ensure your recovery is well-supported.

Is a neck lift the right solution for a double chin?

A neck lift can address submental fat as well as skin laxity and muscle banding. For patients with primarily excess fat and minimal laxity, liposuction alone may be sufficient. Your surgeon will assess your anatomy and recommend the right approach.

Is there significant swelling or bruising?

Some swelling and bruising is expected. Most patients find it resolves enough for comfortable social reappearance within 2–3 weeks. Keeping the head elevated helps manage early swelling.

What type of anesthesia is used?

Neck lift at our facility is performed under general anesthesia, monitored by a board-certified anesthesiologist throughout the procedure.

How long do neck lift results last?

Neck lift results are long-lasting — typically 5–10 years or more. Aging continues, but patients consistently look younger for their age compared to where they would be without surgery.

Will there be visible scars?

Incisions are typically placed behind the ears and under the chin in well-concealed locations. Scars fade over 12–18 months and are not typically visible with normal clothing and hairstyles.

Can a neck lift be combined with a facelift?

Yes — neck lift and facelift are frequently performed together, as they address complementary areas and share similar recovery timelines. Many patients find that combining both produces a more complete, harmonious result.

How long does recovery from a neck lift take?

Most patients resume light activity within 1–2 weeks. Swelling and bruising typically peak around days 3–4 and resolve significantly within 2–3 weeks. Full results become visible over several months as residual swelling subsides.
