Tummy Tuck

A firmer, flatter abdomen

Restoring abdominal tone that diet and exercise simply can't achieve

A tummy tuck removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and repairs separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) — addressing changes that no amount of exercise can reverse. At Surgical Suites of Beverly Hills, abdominoplasty is performed in a private, fully equipped OR with a dedicated surgical team experienced in body contouring.

A firmer, flatter abdomen. Board-certified precision. Private surgical care.

What is a tummy tuck?

An abdominoplasty removes excess abdominal skin, tightens the underlying muscle fascia, and repositions the navel for a smooth, firm contour. A full tummy tuck uses a hip-to-hip incision; a mini tummy tuck addresses only the lower abdomen through a shorter incision. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes 2–4 hours. Most patients return home the same day.

What are the benefits of a Tummy Tuck

  • Removal of excess skin and stubborn fat from the abdomen
  • Repair of separated or weakened abdominal muscles
  • Firmer, flatter, and more toned-looking midsection
  • Improved posture and core stability in some patients
  • Elimination of lower abdominal overhang
  • Long-lasting results with stable weight
  • Can be combined with liposuction for enhanced contouring
  • Performed in a private, surgical suite

FAQs

Common questions about this service and what to expect.

Will I need a follow-up appointment at the facility?

Post-operative follow-up is coordinated through your surgeon's office. Our team ensures you are well-supported throughout recovery.

Is a tummy tuck covered by insurance?

Cosmetic abdominoplasty is not covered by insurance. If diastasis recti causes functional issues, partial coverage may apply in some cases — your surgeon and insurer can advise.

What type of anesthesia is used?

Tummy tuck at our facility is performed under general anesthesia, administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist.

Will a tummy tuck fix stretch marks?

Stretch marks in the area of skin removed will be eliminated. Stretch marks above the navel may be partially repositioned downward. The procedure does not address stretch marks outside the surgical zone.

Can liposuction be combined with a tummy tuck?

Yes — liposuction is frequently performed alongside abdominoplasty to address areas outside the direct excision zone such as the flanks or hips for a more comprehensive contour result.

Will there be scarring?

Yes — a full tummy tuck leaves a horizontal scar low on the abdomen (typically hidden by underwear or swimwear) and a scar around the navel. Scars fade over 12–18 months. Your surgeon will discuss optimal placement at your consultation.

How long does tummy tuck recovery take?

Most patients take 2–3 weeks off work. Patients are instructed to walk slightly bent at the waist for the first 1–2 weeks to reduce tension on the incision. Full activity, including exercise, typically resumes at 6–8 weeks.

What is the difference between a full and mini tummy tuck?

A full abdominoplasty addresses the entire abdomen — including muscle repair and navel repositioning — through a hip-to-hip incision. A mini tummy tuck treats only the area below the navel with a shorter incision and no navel repositioning, suited for patients with limited lower abdominal laxity.
